As a civilian welder, Easter M. Davis Jr. thinks there would have been money in the modifications he made to the B-29 airplanes that rolled off the assembly line and later shipped to the Pratt Army Air Base.

Like a page out of World War II history, a USO show reminiscent of the shows that were presented in Pratt during World War II when the Pratt Army Air Field was in action will come to life again on the Municipal Building stage.

Pratt, Kan. - Memorabilia from the 29th Bomb Group will be a centerpiece for the proposed B-29 museum at the parachute shop at the former Pratt Army Air Field. The parachute shop will soon be listed on the state and national record of historic places.

A grant for the B-29 Museum at the Pratt Regional Airport will help the museum committee complete nearly all the rehabilitation necessary on the parachute building that will become the B-29 Museum.

The 73rd Bomb Wing is looking for a home for their collected memorabilia and artifacts. They are looking at the B-29 Museum at the B-29 All Veterans Memorial at the Pratt Regional Airport as the place they want to leave their history.

PRATT - Phillip Schulz credits his love of flying as the catalyst that has tied him to the 67-year-old Parachute Building on the former World War II Pratt Army Air field.
Milt Martin's passion for preserving the building and establishing a B-29 museum dates to his grandparents and his mother and dad.
